Greenpeace Challenge Award was an open challenge to everybody around the world. The participants had to provide a portable solar pumping system which was in the price range of INR 1 Lakh.

 

Mr. Vivek Mundkur and Mr. Arjun Mundkur, the Founders and Directors of Atom Solar started working on this immediately and came up with the Greenpeace award winning Suntrolley which is portable and affordable. It costs less than INR 1 Lakh, and is a working model.

 

Mr. Vivek Mundkur showed the Greenpeace jury that this model was effective, cost efficient, portable, thus going ahead to win the Greenpeace Challenge for Innovation award.
